Designed as an integrated hardware-software environment for the analysis and synthesis of digital servo control systems, the Digital Servo Workshop introduces students to modelling servomechanisms and basic identification methods; how the properties of a closed-loop system are influenced by the design parameters; closed-loop roots and sample period; how digital controllers can be obtained by translating and modifying analogue design; continuous and discrete linear quadratic controller design and time-optimal controller design.

For those students with limited prior knowledge, the Workshop is also supplied with Discovery Software and Reference and Teaching Manuals which cover the principles and operation of control systems.
